3. How We Use Information
We may use personal information to: schedule and administer appointments; provide tutoring and educational consulting; understand student goals and educational needs; prepare lessons and instructional materials; assign or match students with tutors; communicate with parents, guardians, and authorized students; send appointment confirmations and reminders; process and document payments; maintain service and progress records; respond to inquiries, concerns, or complaints; improve our programs, operations, and website; protect students, clients, tutors, Noor, and others; prevent fraud, misuse, or security incidents; enforce our agreements and policies; maintain tax, accounting, insurance, and legal records; establish, exercise, or defend legal claims; comply with applicable legal obligations; send occasional promotional communications when permitted.
We seek to limit our collection and use of student information to what is reasonably necessary for educational, administrative, safety, and legal purposes.
4. Children and Minor Students
Noor provides services to children and teenagers, but our website, purchasing process, and appointment-booking system are intended for adults.
Anyone under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian schedule and purchase services on their behalf.
The parent or legal guardian is responsible for: authorizing tutoring services; providing or approving student information; accepting financial responsibility; managing the client account; agreeing to Noor’s Terms and Conditions; communicating material scheduling and safety information.
Noor does not knowingly invite children under 13 to submit personal information directly through the website or scheduling system without appropriate parental involvement.
A parent or legal guardian who believes that a child submitted information without authorization may contact Noor to request review or deletion.
5. Tutors, Contractors, and Authorized Personnel
Noor may provide services through its owner, employees, independent-contractor tutors, administrative contractors, or other authorized personnel.
We may provide these individuals with information reasonably necessary to: prepare for tutoring sessions; communicate with the family; understand the student’s educational needs; deliver tutoring services; maintain scheduling or progress records; address service or safety concerns.
Noor seeks to limit access to people who reasonably need the information to perform their assigned responsibilities.
6. Service Providers and Other Disclosures
We may disclose information to providers that help us operate our business, including: Squarespace; Acuity Scheduling; Stripe; Zelle-related financial institutions; banks and payment providers; email and communication providers; video-conferencing services; document-storage or collaboration providers; website analytics and security providers; accountants, attorneys, insurers, and other professional advisers.
We may also disclose information: at the direction or with the authorization of a parent, guardian, or adult student; to protect the safety or rights of a student, client, tutor, Noor, or another person; to investigate suspected fraud, unlawful conduct, or misuse; when required by law, court order, subpoena, or valid legal process; in connection with a merger, financing, sale, reorganization, or transfer of business assets.
Noor does not sell personal information for money.
We may use website analytics or advertising technologies that could be treated as “sharing” under certain privacy laws. Where legally required, visitors will be offered applicable cookie or privacy choices.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our website and service providers may use cookies and similar technologies to: display and operate the website; maintain security; support scheduling and payment features; remember preferences; measure website traffic; understand visitor interactions; improve website performance; evaluate advertising or marketing effectiveness.
Some cookies are necessary for the website to function. Others may be controlled through the website’s cookie banner or the visitor’s browser settings.
Disabling cookies may affect certain website, scheduling, or payment functions.
8. Emails and Text Messages
Noor may send service-related communications such as: appointment confirmations; appointment reminders; rescheduling notices; payment receipts; tutor updates; package or account information; changes affecting scheduled services.
When text-message reminders are enabled, message and data rates may apply.
Noor may also send occasional educational resources, announcements, or promotional emails when the recipient has requested them or when otherwise permitted.
Recipients may unsubscribe from promotional emails using the unsubscribe option in the message. Opting out of marketing does not prevent necessary appointment, payment, safety, or service communications.
Marketing text messages will be sent only when Noor has obtained any consent required by applicable law. Consent to promotional communications is not a condition of purchasing tutoring services.
9. Artificial Intelligence and Educational Technology
Noor may use artificial-intelligence-assisted or other educational technology for purposes such as: lesson planning; creating practice questions or study materials; developing explanations and examples; organizing instructional content; editing educational or administrative materials; supporting internal business operations.
Noor seeks to avoid submitting directly identifying or highly sensitive student information to general-purpose artificial-intelligence systems unless reasonably necessary, appropriately protected, and authorized.
AI-assisted content may contain errors and should be reviewed before being relied upon for instruction.
10. Educational Records and School Accounts
Noor is an independent tutoring and educational consulting company. We are not automatically part of a student’s school or authorized to access school systems.
Parents, guardians, and adult students are responsible for ensuring they have authority to share assignments, evaluations, report cards, and other educational materials with Noor.
Clients should not provide Noor or its tutors with school-portal passwords. When school-platform access is needed, the parent or student should ordinarily log in and maintain control of the account.
11. Photographs, Testimonials, and Publicity
Noor will not publicly disclose a minor student’s photograph, full identity, private educational records, or detailed success story merely because the student received services.
Separate permission may be requested before identifiable student information, photographs, videos, private messages, or detailed testimonials are used for promotional purposes.
Public reviews voluntarily posted on third-party platforms may remain subject to the platform’s own terms and privacy practices.
12. Data Retention
Noor retains information for as long as reasonably necessary to: provide services; maintain scheduling and progress records; process and document payments; resolve concerns or disputes; meet tax, accounting, insurance, and legal obligations; protect against fraud or misuse; enforce agreements; establish or defend legal claims.
Different categories of information may be retained for different periods.
When information is no longer reasonably needed, Noor may delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it, subject to lawful record-retention requirements and technical limitations.
13. Information Security
Noor uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information.
These measures may include limiting access, using reputable service providers, maintaining password protections, and avoiding unnecessary collection of highly sensitive information.
No electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Clients should avoid sending information that Noor has not requested.
14. Your Choices and Requests
You may contact Noor to request that we: correct inaccurate contact information; update your communication preferences; stop promotional communications; review information associated with you or your child; delete information that is no longer reasonably necessary; address a privacy concern.
We may take reasonable steps to verify the identity and authority of the person making the request, especially when the request concerns a minor.
Some information may need to be retained for legal, tax, accounting, safety, fraud-prevention, contractual, or recordkeeping purposes.
We will respond to privacy requests as required by applicable law.
15. Third-Party Websites
Our website may contain links to third-party websites or services, including payment platforms, review sites, educational platforms, and social media.
Noor does not control those third parties and is not responsible for their independent privacy, security, or information practices.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Noor may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our services, providers, technology, or legal obligations.
The updated policy will be posted with a revised “Last Updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through the website, email, scheduling system, or another reasonable method.
